Jam-packed day and a pot tree...

So two nights ago we had a double stop and stayed planted in a family's house for two nights. Ironically all us single ladies were sent to a smaller house around the corner from the main one. We were lucky enough in the morning to encounter the above pot tree in our front yard after night one, and asked our guide for the day about it.
Pot trees are an older Romanian tradition. If the pots are out there is a single lady inside looking for a man, when the pots are up on the balcony its too late. As you can se from our tree, were pretty desperate... Was very ironical, and hilarious :)
That day we visited Marys Cemetery which has beautiful hand carved and painted headstones. They also have funny stories on them, like one that said 'here lies my body, I was a drunk and drank too much... Etc etc.'
After that it was a picnic with a great view, then a UNESCO listed wooden church, a Polinka maker (moonshine) who also had a  couple of great 100 year old machines for bashing felt, a wheat mill and an old saying machine powered by water from a stream. Then we saw a wood carver, and then the most amazing, peaceful, still in use monastery.
Enjoy the pictures!
