Day 1... Ouch

We made it to Ages today, approx. 24kms. Most of the day was great. We started by checking out the outside of the beautiful church, (see pic) and then trying to get directions from the tourist office out to the Camino but walking  backwards/against the flow... Turns out what we are doing is so weird the tourist officer couldn't even help us haha.
Other things we've learned today/had fun doing is confusing camino walkers, by walking in the opposite direction. Their expressions of 'ughh this way' in Spanish and pointing to where we've come from is priceless. Also how much better ice cream tastes after 24km (who knew that was possible!).
Its been a long, warm, and rewarding day. We're Sore but satisfied and surprised by the different types of tracks we've walked already. Along highways (don't freak out mum and dad), on dirt tracks, beside military zones and up rather large hills.
Enjoy the pictures and thanks for the msgs.
A x

Ps. Adam I'm only loaning you my car park. Dad and mum expect posts and msgs in the middle of the night. Belinda Owen I don't need to borrow your cross trainer anymore. And finally Sharon, are you sure you want me to think of you when throwing my legs over the side of the bed at the start of the day because tomorrow it might be nice thoughts :)

  1. Typical Aussie s. Going against the grain. I feel the food at the end of long days is going to be Wat pulls you through. Sangria and more tapas. I'm ok with dealing with my food envy.
